Visit Malpas & Explore Truro

The upper reaches of the Fal River are simply stunning.


Take a ferry trip from St Mawes on an Enterprise boat and land at either Malpas or Truro.

Land at Malpas on an incoming tide and enjoy a lovely walk into the city centre, grab a bite to eat and then head back on the ferry, or land at Truro and walk down to Malpas on a dropping tide for a bite to eat and return ferry.

1. Take an Enterprise Boat...

Hop aboard one of the beautiful Enterprise boats start your cruise up the Fal River...


Along the way you will see the river in all its glory with beautiful woodlands & glorious gardens.

As your trip leaves the Carrick roads for the Fal River, you will pass by the King Harry Ferry and the laid up ships at Tolverne.

2. Explore Malpas or Truro...

Explore a gem on the Fal River, Malpas, or visit Cornwalls capital Truro...


Ask the skipper where is best to get off to catch the right tide.

Get off at Malpas and admire the beautiful village, it's nestled in amongst the woodland on the banks of the Fal River with a fantastic pub and scenic views.

Get off at Truro and feel the beating heart of Cornwall, the city centre has a diverse range of shops with artisan retailers to the lovely Lemon Quay.

3. Walk to Truro / Malpas...

The walk along the river is simply stunning.


Head along the road to/from Truro/Malpas and enjoy the lush scenery.

Along the way you will pass along some lovely unspoilt stretches of the Fal River.

The walk is about 2.5 miles and will take about an hour at a relaxed pace.

4. Grab a bite to eat...

Enjoy foodie heaven with a view...


Grab a bite to eat on the banks of the Fal River in Malpas in a lovely pub, or head to Truro and pick from a diverse range of places to eat!

Truro has some great spots to eat, especially when the sun is shining! Enjoy lunch on Lemon Quay or head to one of the many restuarants.

5. Return to St Mawes...

Head for home...


Stroll back to the ferry at either Malpas or Truro and hop aborad.

Simply head back down to town quay in Truro or the pontoon in Malpas.
