Following a successful first summer as a sponsor of a Cornish theatre company a local ferry company has committed its support for the next 12 months.
The team behind Cornwall Ferries and the King Harry Ferry has agreed to back Miracle Theatre's 2011 programme.
The move comes after a successful summer where the company ferried audience members to and from Miracle's performance of Romeo & Juliet at Trelissick Gardens and St Mawes Castle.
Cornwall Ferries' managing director, Tim Light, said: "Right from the start it was clear that being the summer tour sponsor for Miracle Theatre Company's production of Romeo & Juliet was going to be far from dull.
"The Miracle team made the whole process very easy for us and from the outset we were both clear what we wanted to achieve - the chance to get regional promotion for the River Fal area from Cornwall to Dorset, along with local profile and tickets to reward staff for hard work and loyalty was too good to miss."
As part of their ongoing support the Cornwall Ferries team also helped Miracle launch the Miracle Workers corporate friends scheme by hosting potential partners on a boat trip to see a performance of Romeo & Juliet at St Mawes Castle.
Miracle's general manager, Annie Ukleja, said: "We had a great season with the King Harry and Cornwall Ferries team and their involvement with the showboats added a huge amount to the audience's outdoor theatre experience.
"We're so pleased that becoming our first summer tour sponsor has been such a positive investment for them and its fantastic news that they have agreed to sign up again for 2011.
"Their support in helping us build relationships with other businesses, through the Miracle Workers scheme, is really invaluable to us."
Miracle, which produces at least two productions a year, has seen its audiences increase to 20,000 during 2010, with more than half of those watching the company's version of Romeo & Juliet throughout the South West this summer.
Tim added: "The partnership has been effective, fun and easy - that has to be a no brainer for any business that values local and regional profile, their staff and suppliers, I am really glad that other companies interested in helping the arts and raising their profile across the South West."
