Greenbank Fal River Festival Opening Ceremony

Join us for the opening ceremony of the '2011 Greenbank Fal River Festival on Friday 27th May'.

Coming from Truro
3.30pm/ 3.45pm (prompt) :: King Harry Coach departs Truro
A King Harry Coach will be departing from Truro football ground at 3.45pm collecting guests and transporting them to Trelissick Gardens. From Trelissick guests will be asked to make their way down to Trelissick pontoon where the St Mawes Ferry will be awaiting them.

Coming from Falmouth
4pm (prompt) :: St Mawes Ferry departs Falmouth
The St Mawes Ferry will be departing from Prince of Wales Pier at 4pm collecting guests and transporting them to Trelissick Gardens where the festivities will begin.

4.30pm
:: Beer departs from the King Harry Ferry
Invited guests depart King Harry Ferry/ Trelissick Pontoon with 'THE BEER' from Skinners Brewery aboard the St Mawes ferry 'Duchess of Cornwall' and 'Enterprise'.

4.45pm :: Falmouth Tugs join Beer Fleet
Two Falmouth Tugs joined the parade and headed for Falmouth with fire monitors spraying water.





4.30pm/ 5pm :: Other crafts join 'Beer Fleet'
Other vessels join the parade of boats at King Harry ferry to escort the beer down river to Falmouth Customs House Quay.  The parade will move at 6-7 knots. We invited all manner of crafts to join us to escort the beer down river to Falmouth.  Skinners Beer Festival tokens were handed out from a RIB to all vessels and their crews which could be surrendered at Events Square later that evening.
 
In 2010 we had over 30 vessels that joined the 'Beer Fleet' as we headed South towards Falmouth.

6pm :: Falmouth Custom House Quay

Upon arrival at the quay we ask everyone to make their way to Events Square.

The official opening speeches of the Greenbank Fal River Festival 2011!



7pm :: Live Show from Truro School of Samba
Samba Band and Dancers performed a static display in the Festival Marquee.



8pm :: Headline Act  :: Falmouth Soul Sensation
The band consists of a core of experienced musicians who offer the opportunity to other local musicians and singers of all ages and ability to work in a band environment or simply keep their hand in. The result is a vibrant and exciting mix of ages and instruments backed by a solid core of excellent and experienced musicians.
