The 300 year old Ferryboat Inn was taken over by the Wright Brothers took in April last year. Having succeeded in regenerating the heritage Duchy of Cornwall oysterage at Helford they felt The Ferryboat would be the perfect place to showcase their ‘farm to plate’ philosophy. They wanted to create a place where locals as well as visitors to Cornwall could enjoy oysters and seafood plucked straight out of the Helford River, and great food in a relaxed, convivial environment in one of Cornwall’s most picturesque spots.

The kitchen is run by Ben Lightfoot, previously of The Sticky Prawn on Flushing Quay. Using local suppliers from Kynance Crab and Blue Pointer to oysters from the Duchy of Cornwall oysterage, Ben has created an exciting yet traditional menu with wide appeal. The Ferryboat is a place to experience locally sourced food cooked simply, relax and keep warm around a snug fire on colder days, or enjoy stunning river views across the Helford from the outdoor terrace.
