At your own pace with a Mussel Card

With the aid of the Guide and ideally one of the new maps you can tailor make your trips to make the most of your interests, weather and time available:

I have taken the liberty of assuming you have an Mussel Card Visitor Plus to provide some reccommendations that I give to my family and friends:

A bit of everything and a nice full tum at lunchtime From Falmouth either by train, bus or park at the Falmouth Park and Float (all day parking and transport from £4.50 a day for up to 7 people) enjoy a morning in Fallmouth enjoying the art galleries and Maritime Museum then head over to St Mawes for lunch at one of the fantastic hotels or pubs. Enjoy an after lunch walk to St Mawes Castle and down the Eastern side of the Fal Estuary. Make sure you get a ferry (May Queen) back at about 4.30pm and that will get you back in plenty of time to catch a Park and Float back from Customs House Quay to the car park or train/bus back to where ever you are staying. (note Falmouth Park and Float works from May 23 rd to the end of Sept) Note there are no calories in any food sold in St Mawes and afternoon tea at the Tresanton Hotel.

A great day out from Truro From April until November you can jump on one of the Enterprise Boats or a half hourly service from Truro Station on the fantastic Maritime Line to Falmouth. If going on an Enterprise Boat you can stop off at Trelissick gardens - not to be missed particularly in the Spring Time and just jump on a later boat. You will arrive at Prince of Wales Pier and if this happens to be around about lunchtime turn right and go up Market Street there are some really nice places for lunch and great shops and galleries. After lunch be sure to enjoy the Poly and Falmouth Art gallery in the center of town. depending on the time a visit to the Maritime Museum is always good and of course all included in yor mussel card so no need to get your wallet out again!

From St Mawes a day that will blow your ears off and make you want to marry a local - Get up late eat a hearty breakfast and head off to the Quay to get a Place Ferry over to St Anthony Headland - top tip get a coffee from Chandlers and a couple of rather nice cakes (remember no calories in St Mawes) then just enjoy a lovely little Penguine free trip over to paradise and walk to Portscatho for lunch remembering to take a serious chill pill on any of the lovely beaches on the way.By the time you get back to Place Quay/Pontoon you will have that lovely feeling of a day well spent and ready to eat a passing cow that can only be satisfied by a big supper and an early night!

Hope you have a great day and don't forget your sun shade/umbrella.
