Popular King Harry Area Guide Book flying off the shelves in Cornwall

The increasingly popular 2010 King Harry's Cornwall Area Guide Book is packed full of useful information for both visitors and locals. It includes maps, tide times, ferry timetables, places to stay, walks, beaches and much more.

Demelza Davies, from Truro Tourist Information Centre (TIC), said it is hugely popular. "Each week between six and 10 boxes of guide books are being given away by the TIC. It's filled with so much information that it is perfect for people wanting to know about what's going on in the area. The guide is a great tool if you're planning to use public transport," she said.

Toby Budd, from King Harry Ferry, explained why they publish the guide: "We wanted to produce a one stop guide for both visitors and our regular local customers. "As well as information on our ferry services it lists all of our partners in the area, from great places to stay to local gardens, places to eat and other things to do, all of which we personally recommend."

The guide has a print run of almost quarter of a million and was designed by Stephane Rouget, from Three Circles design in Illogan.

Stephane said: "I've been working on the King Harry Ferry guide for six years now and every year we strive to make it better, brighter and easier to use. "The 2010 guide is definitely one of the best we have ever produced."

For the first time this year a map of the area is being sold alongside the guide. It can be purchased for £3 and will hit the shelves this week.

Cartographer of the main detailed area map, Neil Reid, said: "It covers the River Fal area and the Roseland and gives details of walks, bus stops and parks.

"It has been a huge undertaking and we've worked really hard with the team at King Harry Ferry to ensure it contains exactly the right amount of information."

Alongside the area map you will also find a Fal River Links transport map as well as detailed street maps of Falmouth, St Mawes and Truro. The King Harry Ferry Guide is free of charge and can be downloaded from the website www.kingharryscornwall.co.uk/guide
