“We’ve already installed new A-rated oil fired boilers and super-insulated hot water cylinders” commented Mark Sadler “and it makes sense for us to go that extra step and put solar panels on our roofs to help heat our water.

“We’re praying for a sunny August and September for the investment to start to pay off!” added Mark’s wife Barbara.  “Even on seemingly cloudy days, we’ll get some benefit according to Davanna H”.eating, who installed the new panels for us

“The final part of our green plan is to replace our Septic Tank with a much more environmentally-friendly Sewage Treatment Plant.  We hope to have this work completed by the end of August” added Mark. 

“We’ve had tremendous support from The Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project (CoaST) over the past three years to help us become a much greener business.  Without their help, we would not have made anything like as much headway” added Barbara.

Roundhouse Barn Holidays has five stars and a Gold award for its self catering cottages and five stars and a Silver award for its B&B rooms.  In 2009, it was also awarded a Silver Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
