Trethem Mill Touring Park, already Gold winners from last year's Cornwall Tourism Awards, are delighted to announce they have won Silver at the South West Tourism awards for "Holiday Park of the Year". The Excellence Awards celebrate the best in the South West and aim to promote and reward the very best in the tourism industry. We faced competition from many other Parks in the South West, a region that covers Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset and Gloucestershire.

The awards night was held on 24th November at the Cadbury House Hotel and Spa in Somerset. The guest presenter was Dr Phil Hammond, a medical doctor who lives in the South West, and has become known as a television and radio comedian and commentator.

We are delighted that our continued commitment and investment in the Park has been recognised. To be a winner we had to demonstrate outstanding levels of customer service and exemplary facilities. We also had to show a deep commitment to sustainability and being accessible to all. This Award has shown that we are at the forefront of our industry.

Julian Crow, First Great Western's General Manager for the West of England, said:
"Judges this year were again deeply impressed with the standard of entries from candidates representing the cream, if not the double cream of the South West as they strive for quality and excellence for their customers."

Malcolm Bell, Chief Executive of South West Tourism, said:
"The standard of entrants rises year on year and we were all very impressed once again. The winning businesses have all shown that customer care and training are vital to their businesses success and they have shown a commitment to continual investment in this area."
