Ferry forces unite on the Fal River to improve the offering of the best boat trips in Cornwall from Falmouth, Truro and St Mawes.
Cornwall Ferries and Enterprise Boats have come together in a deal which will see the best boat trips in Cornwall continue to go from strength to strength.
Enterprise Boats provide stunning boat trips from Falmouth, Truro and St Mawes running up and down the beautiful banks of the Fal River.
Enterprise Boats is now part of Cornwall Ferries Ltd, which was established in 2003 by four local families, and operates the St Mawes Ferry, the Falmouth Park and Float and the Place Ferry that provides the South West Coastal Footpath link between St Mawes and St Anthony Head.
The company mergers will allow both companies to deliver new ticketing options and services for passengers using the newly introduced Fal Mussel Card, a travel pass which offers unlimited hop-on hop-off travel at discounted prices along the Fal River.
Their are three classic Enterprise Boats ferries that operate a service that links Falmouth, Truro and St Mawes stopping at the National Trust Trelissick Garden. They will also be adding a free link ferry service for Enterprise Boats passengers from Trelissick to Smugglers Cottage.
Tim Light has been involved for 12 years in the running of the King Harry Ferry and Cornwall Ferries Ltd and says he has enjoyed a close working relationship with Enterprise Boats over the years.
He said: 'We have developed a very good working relationship over the years and I really look forward to working with the family and staff to keep Enterprise Boats as an iconic part of the River Fal.
'The service will remain unchanged for 2012 allowing people to enjoy the scenic route linking Truro via Smugglers Cottage, Trelissick Garden to St Mawes and Falmouth.'
