World-renowned Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes has become the latest partner of the tourism project, King Harry's Cornwall.
The project, which prides itself on personally choosing all its partners, highlights places to stay, things to do, places to eat, good beaches to visit and interesting ways in which to visit them all - including ferries, buses and trains.
Federica Bertolini, manager of the hotel, said: "We like to support local initiatives and make sure that the whole of the county benefits from the clients we help attract to Cornwall. I feel King Harry's Cornwall has acquired a great look and feels much more vital with the new website.
She added: "We hope that being partners of KHC will help us break down any misconceptions within the local community that we are only a hotel for the very rich. We offer understated comfort in a friendly, relaxed, but very efficient way. The restaurant has three rosettes, the food is not over expensive and last year the readers of Luxury Travel voted us as Best Independent Hotel - in the world!"
Hotel Tresanton was initially a sailing club, started by Jack Silley in the 1950s. It took two years for Mrs Polizzi to refurbish and extend the hotel. Federica said: "Thanks to the association with Mrs Polizzi (who belongs to the Forte family of renowned hotelier tradition) we offer a strong guarantee in terms of quality of service. She is a famous interior designer, therefore we combine the best of taste and service attention".
As a member of the project, the hotel will feature in the 2008 King Harry's Cornwall area guide, which is a 100-page guide book giving visitors and local people tips on what to do while in the area.
The hotel will also feature on www.kingharryscornwall.co.uk - designed by Two Design and developed by Look Systems both of Falmouth. The website mirrors much of the information in the Guide Book as well as a host of regularly updated information such as what's on, news, special offers and webcams.
Toby Budd, marketing manager of King Harry's Cornwall, said: "We are delighted to welcome Hotel Tresanton onboard. The hotel epitomises quality in Cornwall and together we hope to attract more local people to sample the delights of this wonderful hotel."
