THE KING HARRY Ferry is helping teenagers from Devoran take part in the Ten Tors Expedition.
The team of thirty 13 to 17-year-olds will use the money from the Feock-based ferry company to help with transportation to the expedition on Dartmoor during May.
Managing director, Tim Light, said: “We are delighted to be able to help out. I did the Ten Tors as a teenager and think it is a great way to help youngsters build self confidence, get out in the open air and meet new people.”
Tim added that the ferry is concentrating much
of its sponsorship this year on youth sport and activites and wished the teams
well in their training.
John Parham the Devoran Scout Leader and Ten Tors Manager is delighted to receive sponsorship this year explaining that “Once again, we have a really committed group of youngsters aged 13 – 17, competing for places in three 35-mile teams and one 45-mile team. Some will be disappointed at not making the team but they are all putting a great effort into the training, making new friends, learning new skills and developing their confidence.”
