On the 28th of May, adventurer Pete Goss gave a highly entertaining talk to a packed Main Hall at the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
The 250 strong audience was enthralled by Pete's tales of his epic voyage from Newlyn to Melbourne, Australia in Spirit of Mystery, a 37ft replica Mounts Bay Lugger, recreating the incredible journey undertaken by seven Cornishmen back in 1854.
This was the first event of its kind to be held in the Museum's Main Hall and it proved to be hugely successful, raising just over £2000 for Cornwall Playing for Success.
Due to the unprecedented demand for this event a second date has been arranged for Monday 29 June. Tickets for this lecture are £8 for children (6-15) and £12 for adults with all of the profits going to the Cornwall Playing for Success charity, of which Pete is a founding trustee.
To enjoy the lecture and a two course buffet, prices are £16 or £20. Tickets are limited and are available on 01326 214546.
