Fal River team up with Piece of Cake Training to support Cornwall's thriving tourism industry.

A new partnership aiming to empower tourism business in Cornwall to promote themselves more effectively is being launched.

Fal River Cornwall has enlisted the support of Piece of Cake Training to deliver a series of public relations and marketing workshops at stunning locations around the county.

Around 120 businesses currently work together under the banner of Fal River Cornwall with the aim of promoting the area as Cornwall’s most popular visitor destination.

The new partnership with Piece of Cake Training will see a concerted effort to maximise PR and marketing opportunities, in turn attracting more people to the Falmouth area.

Tim Light, managing director of Fal River Cornwall, said: 'We've worked with Sam White and Suzie Smith from Piece of Cake Training in a variety of roles for several years, so it made perfect sense to enlist their services to offer this added value provision for partners.

'I’m confident that tapping into their ideas, support and knowledge will act as a fantastic catalyst for everyone attending.'

There are six courses being run at the beginning and end of this year, which will ensure businesses have a pre-season marketing boost and should also help attract visitors towards the end of the summer when the main tourist rush is over.

The sessions are being staged at several iconic Cornish venues, who are all Fal River Partners, including the Eden Project, Hall for Cornwall, Trelissick Gardens, an Enterprise Boat, Princess Pavilion and the Greenbank Hotel, in Falmouth.

Suzie Smith, co-owner of Piece of Cake Training said: 'Within three days of advertising the first course we had literally dozens of places booked, which is a fantastic endorsement.

'We’re looking forward to running these sessions, not least because we’ll get to revisit some beautiful locations.

'If there are any Fal River Cornwall partners who haven’t booked for the first course on February 12, there is still time, just send us an email at hello@pieceofcaketraining.co.uk.'

Piece of Cake Training run a variety of training courses from introduction to public relations and marketing, to social media for business and crisis communications.

Sam and Suzie also design bespoke courses – as with the Fal River Cornwall partnership – and offer mentoring and coaching services.

Their next half-day courses are being run on February 21, 22 and 28. For more information or to book visit www.pieceofcaketraining.co.uk or call 07812 525128.
