Fal River Partners

Welcome to Fal River Cornwall - one of the most successful private-sector led marketing partnerships in the country.

We love this part of the world and that's why we spend a lot of time, money and energy promoting the Fal River and its surrounds to potential visitors around the world, as well as encouraging the local community to make the most of what's on their doorstep.

Every year we produce three free guide books - the Fal River Area Guide Book, the Falmouth Guide and the Truro Guide. More than 200,000 of these are printed every year and distributed across Cornwall and throughout the UK.

We run two festivals that have been designed to boost visitor numbers in the shoulder months - the Fal River Festival and the Fal River Autumn Walking Festival. As well as having their own websites, each festival also has a printed programme which again is distributed throughout Cornwall.

In 2011 we took over the running of the Fal River Visitor Information Centre on the Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth and have worked extremely hard to ensure the long term sustainability of this vital resource for the area.

Alongside all of this, we operate the Fal Mussel Card and the ferry network that links the Fal River. We run the King Harry Ferry, the St Mawes Ferry, Enterprise Boats, the Place Ferry and Falmouth's Park & Float service.

This is a truly wonderful area that is made even better by you - the accommodation providers, attractions, cafes, restaurants, pubs, activity providers, theatres, gardens and art galleries.

This part of our website is just for you and includes resources which we hope you will use to help provide an even better experience for the visitors to this area and leave people wanting to come back again and again.

Testimonials

“We are delighted to support the ideas of such an innovative, creative ‘can do’ partner who realises that we are all connected and that by promoting ourselves collectively as a destination there are additional benefits for everyone.”

Marc Laundon, Tempus Leisure

“Working with Fal River helps us get our information into the hands of visitors to this beautiful part of Cornwall. The guide book helps us position the offer and the monthly e-shot is a useful tool for any back-up offers and reminders … all that and its beautifully designed to boot.”

Sarah Ferrie, Hall for Cornwall

“With so many great places to visit in Cornwall it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd, but Fal River work tirelessly to put this beautiful area on the map and encourage visits. The team are very helpful and are always happy to help and support with social media, online activity and email marketing.”

Sarah Collins, Rick Stein’s

“As the owner and operator of St Mawes Kayaks, Mini Cruises & Water Taxi I have found being a Fal River partner extremely beneficial. Apart from my own brochures, the Fal River Guide Book is the only place I pay to advertise, and I don’t feel I need to pay to be in any other publication. As well as the excellent guide, the web site is a great source of traffic to my own site, and every week is top of my statistics page above any other site, for “click-through” to my site! The website is extremely comprehensive and, along with the guide, a great resource for the Fal River and surrounding area. Being a partner also entitles one to added benefits; such as training sessions in marketing, and various social activities.

Apart from all the above, everyone at Fal River is easy to talk to, changes can be made easily, and they are nice people!”

Mark Bower, St Mawes Kayaks, Mini Cruises & Water Taxi

“At Little White Alice we invite our guests to enter a slower world, leave the car behind and take time to explore the beautiful landscape around them. Our favourite way to explore the River Fal is by boat and we recommend all our guests make use of the Fal Mussel Card, we can think of no better way to discover life around the River. Partnerships are a vital part of our overall business and we have found great benefits in working with the Fal River Team who give us lots of opportunities to extend our own offering to our guests.”

Rosie Hadden, Little White Alice

“Orca Sea Safaris has been a Fal River Partner for a number of years we have certainly seen enormous benefits each year.

The high quality publications produced are sought after by visitors, businesses and locals. The distribution area is continuously growing, we have generated business and contacts further afield as a direct result; add to this a highly organised website and an active social media network, becoming a Partner has been paramount to the growth of our business.

As a Partner we have had so many additional opportunities including free workshops covering a variety of topics these have provided valuable support and information and are always very popular! Tommy and his team are always very helpful and infectiously enthusiastic; we are looking forward to more exciting times as a Fal River Partner.”

Caroline Harvey, Orca Sea Safaris

“In challenging times it is essential that resources are targeted to where most benefit can be received. Being a Fal River partner gives access to a wide range of very successful channels to diverse market places via online media and social activity. Plus the additional benefits of participation in the Falmouth Guide, Mussel Card tourism pass and additional opportunities being introduced by a forward thinking team.”

Tony Rees, Marketing Executive, English Heritage Pendennis & St.Mawes Castles

“Being a Fal River partner is vital to the success of Smugglers & The Tea Bar. The guide book is stylish and well promoted as I always seem to spot it on my travels around Cornwall! Plus the Fal Mussel Card is a great incentive to encourage locals to visit us. This is also really well advertised in print, online, and even on local radio. We particularly love the Fal River website which is extremely comprehensive and easy to navigate, and we’ve seen direct web traffic from our online Fal River listing. The team are a pleasure to work with and are so helpful in promoting our events online in their e-newsletters and on social media. It is wonderful to have such a valuable partnership and the benefits are constantly being seen.”

Abby Keverne, Marketing Executive, Tregothnan Estate/Smugglers Cottage

“Until fairly recently the Fal River was a bit of a well-kept secret. The Fal River partnership, through its guide, website, Falmouth guide and mussel card has woken this stunning area from its sleepy slumber and opened up all the incredible things to do. As a partner you are instantly recognised as offering an excellent service, whether it be food, experience or attraction and this unspoken stamp of quality magnifies the ‘must do/see’ messaging.”

Tamsin Loveless, Head of Communications, National Maritime Museum Cornwall

“Working with the Fal River team has been an on-going pleasure – not only the customer service they offer but in the help and support they have given to many of us here at the hotel.  We have worked closely with Fal River on many initiatives and are especially pleased with the design and functionality of the new website and online facilities offered.  The Greenbank Hotel looks forward to another successful partnership year promoting our fantastic area.”

Julia Eccleston, Business Development Manager, Greenbank Hotel
