Lost Gardens of Heligan

Discover the Lost Gardens of Heligan one of the most mysterious estates in England.

Heligan has been the seat of the Tremayne family for more than 400 years.

At the end of the 19th century its thousand acres were at their zenith, but only a few years later after the Great War of 1914, bramble and ivy were already drawing a green veil over this Sleeping Beauty.

Today Britain's Finest Garden offers over 200 acres for exploration from Victorian Productive Gardens and the surrounding Pleasure Grounds to a sub-tropical jungle valley brimming with exotic foliage.

You'll find woodland and farm walks through beautiful Cornish countryside where sustainable management practices promote diverse habitats and a pioneering Wildlife Project offers visitors a close up view of native wildlife.

"Heligan is so much more than just a garden, it's a place in the soul." Tim Smit - Eden Project Cheif Executive
