Charlotte Williams - A New Perspective for 2012
Charlotte William's minimal but precise drawings and paintings are conceptually inspired by the way we interact with space and architecture.
Her exhibition will showcase her practice as an artist and curator and will invite the audience to navigate and contemplate around the domestic space at the Courtyard Deli.
I am currently exploring the boundaries between the artist and curator.
Over the past six months, I have noticed a shift in the direction and framework of my practice. I am not only concerned with the composition of my minimal drawings, but also the effect of the art object and its relationship to the space it is installed within.
How does this have an effect on the viewer? Does the viewer just glance at the work, or do they immerse themselves and enquire? How do we encourage the viewer to look at an art object from a variety of angles, perspectives and distances? How can we encourage this physical engagement
