With live jazz from Mollie The Mooches

Designer of hundreds of iconic yachts - including Mirabella 5, the world's biggest modern sloop, and Christopher, an elegant 150-foot ketch currently under construction in Pendennis shipyard - Ron is one of the most reputable naval architects on the planet. With a personality to match any of his biggest creations, The Poly is thrilled he'll be entertaining us with a talk about the last 20 years of design evolution in the world of superyachts.

Born and raised in New Zealand and having spent more than half his life in Ireland, Ron developed an early love for racing sailboats, which evolved into a lifelong passion. His career as a designer of some of the world's most elegant, technologically advanced, and luxurious yachts has spanned over 35 years - from the triumph of his early builds such as Eugthene, winner of the Quarter Ton Cup race in 1973, to the acclaim surrounding many of his recent successes, including his collaboration on Panthalassa, recently awarded the coveted Prix du Design at the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show.

Despite such prestige, Ron is one of the most affable and laid-back characters in the business, and his talk will provide a great opportunity to find out about his experiences during a fascinating period for yacht design.

The evening will kick off with a live jazz and swing set from popular Falmouth band Mollie The Mooches. Not to be missed!
