DISCOVERY TALK - Ships of Brunel
30 Nov, 6.30pm

In 1835, a Great Western Railway director commented that Isambard Kingdom Brunel should extend his ‘Billiard Table Railway’ onwards from Bristol to cross the Atlantic.  Over the next twenty years, Brunel designed and built three revolutionary ocean going ships which changed the design and construction of merchant ships forever. Join David Pollard for this non-technical talk on the construction and operation of Brunel’s famous ships and their legacy.
