2011 RNLI Castle to Castle Swim

29 May 2011

The RNLI is delighted to host this one mile open water annual Swim as part of the Fal River Festival.

The On-Line Registration for the 2011 RNLI Castle to Castle Swim is now LIVE and can be found at www.rnli.org.uk/castle2castle

This years swim will be taking place on Sunday 29 May starting at 3pm from Pendennis Headland in Falmouth.(High Water Slack at 15:59)

To book your place for this fantastic event please follow the link above and click on the button marked "Request Pack" and complete the relevant details - if you have family or friends who would also like to take part please ask them to follow the same procedure to register.

All participants in the swim will be asked to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship for the RNLI, will need to confirm that they can swim a mile in open water and will be required to provide and wear a wetsuit. The RNLI will provide a high visibility swim cap which must be worn during the swim. Full details of the terms and conditions for fundraising in aid of the RNLI can be found at RNLI Terms & Conditions

Once again the event is being held during the annual Fal River Festival and the date for the swim has been chosen to coincide with the Spring Bank Holiday weekend which should help those that are travelling from other parts of the country hopefully allowing them to take advantage of the long weekend.

The number of places available will have to be limited due to safety considerations so early registration is recommended.

The RNLI will also be organising the St Mawes 10km Cross Country Run on the same afternoon along the banks of the Fal Estuary - for those that are really keen there will be the opportunity of joining the run immediately after your swim - on-line registration for the run will open shortly - swimmers will not be required to raise any additional sponsorship to enter the run, but the more money you can the raise the better.
