Come and hear four varied and exciting contemporary writers from the local area.

Penelope Shuttle has made Cornwall her home since 1970 and has published five novels as well as seven collections of poetry - the most recent, Redgrove's Wife was shortlisted for both the Forward and TS Eliot poetry prizes.

DM Thomas is an internationally acclaimed novelist, poet and biographer. As well as numerous novels and poetry collections, he has written a children's book about Flora Day, a prize-winning biography of Alexander Solzhenitsyn and a play, Hell Fire Corner about the life of Redruth rugby player Bert Solomon.

Jane Tozer
translates from medieval French and her versions of the lai of Marie de France, Knights of Love was praised in the Times for its 'earthy humour ... intense, obsessive, sad, fey and movingly sexy'.

The evening will be introduced by Victoria Field whose small press, fal publications has featured the above writers.  She works as a Poetry Therapist and her third co-edited book on therapeutic writing is due from Jessica Kingsley in October. She was formerly poet-in-residence at Truro Cathedral and Hall for Cornwall have produced two of her plays.
