Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival

13 June - 15 June 2014

The world renowned Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is the largest free maritime music event in the world!

The 2014 festival will be the 11th year the event has been running and along the way it has raised more than £30,000 for the RNLI.

The event is spread over three days in various locations with groups and singers coming from all corners of the duchy to unite and sing traditional sea shanties.

Since its start in 2004 the festival has grown and evolved into the biggest free maritime music festival in the world attracting massive crowds.

Some famous acts include the renowned Cadgwith Singers - a group started many years ago in the pub at Cadgwith with Buller and Hartley. Other groups include the Cape Cornwall singers, The Oggymen and the brilliant solo act of Alan Whitbread.

The event was the brain child of a few indivuduals from Falmouth RNLI and the Fledging Falmouth Shout whilst sat in the Chainlocker pub chatting about ways to raise funds.
