Throughout the whole of January, visitors to Trebah will have a unique opportunity to enjoy it's fabulous ravine valley garden FREE OF CHARGE.
With 24 acres and 4 miles of footpaths to explore as well as its very own private beach set on the spectacular Helford Estuary, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where better to make a fresh start to the year, without damaging your wallets!
Speaking of the decision to offer free entry, Trebah's Director Nigel Burnett says " This coming January marks the 21st Anniversary of the creation of Trebah Garden Trust, the charity which owns the house and gardens at Trebah and whose main object is "to preserve, enhance and re-create for the education and enjoyment of the public the gardens of Trebah...".
"To celebrate the start of this anniversary year, we thought we would really like to extend a warm welcome to everyone, especially those who are unfamiliar with this very special Cornish garden and the many developments and improvements that have occurred in recent years".
January is an interesting time of year for Trebah, this is partly due to its sub-tropical nature, where the Visitor Centre borders have an excellent collection of Mediterranean, South African and Australian planting and partly to do with over 60,000 early-flowering spring bulbs, in particular snowdrops, that have been planted over the past 3 years. Trebah is a very inclusive garden and is proud to be dog friendly all year round, dogs please keep your owners on the lead! There is also plenty to do for children, Fort Stuart for the under 5's and Tarzan's Camp with its famous Trebah Paraglide for the more adventurous.
Over the past 21 years, Trebah has firmly established itself as a garden of international reputation, with a fantastic new visitor centre and award-winning facilities and service. Planters Cafe has become a destination in its own right, offering simple, honest, home-cooked, seasonal food with special offers on throughout the winter.
