ollowing a hugely successful event last year, the ninth annual Open Studios will see artists and crafts people throwing open the doors to their studios for a week at the beginning of the summer 2014.

Jo Kehyaian

I work with a variety of natural and found materials. My paintings are created from the earth and rock pigments I collect from the beaches around Cornwall. These ma- terials are carefully recycled, reformed and refined to represent the fragility and understated beauty of the Cornish coastal ecosystem. My work is intuitive and holds the emotions, memories and sense of my- self that words cannot express.

Hannah Batstone

Inspired by her surroundings, Hannah Batstone produces a range of contempo- rary jewellery. Her pieces often include set stones, combined with textural ster- ling silver. Her studio on Penryn High street is shared with other makers and artists, and has a variety of work on dis- play with prices from £20 to £300.

Jane Bodle

I work mostly in watercolour but also mix media when appropriate. My paintings feature on Flora and local Landscapes which are on Yupo paper in a looser style. This paper enables me to achieve more movement and colour. Prices of framed work £30 - £150.00. Original artwork cards also available.

This year I will be making raku pieces,using local clays,some of which will be stained with oxides and smoked. Others will be glazed with richly coloured glazes. I also make thrown stoneware pots with oxide stained clays and neutral glazes.

My studio is opposite The Greenbank Hotel near to the hustle & bustle of Falmouth. The work is completely abstract. Manipu- lation of colours and mixed media allows me to experiment, moving out towards the unknowable and the impossible.
