An intimate one-off performance here at The Poly.

11 MAY 8.00 pm

"Shearwater has magnificently outdone itself. Not only is Rook destined to be named one of 2008's favorites, but it could be one of the best albums for years to come... it is among the most achingly beautiful things ever recorded" - 9/10

"From clanging rock songs to eerie ambient pieces to sensual acoustic reveries, it's all highly detailed and perfectly weighted." - Uncut

Following their headline appearance at ATP vs. The Fans, Shearwater (of Austin, Texas) make time in their schedule for an intimate one-off performance here at The Poly. Singer Jonathan Meiburg formally left indie giants Okkervil River last year to devote more time to touring and playing songs from Shearwater's recent albums Palo Santo and Rook, which have been hailed as classics of indie/rock/folk. The New York Times was moved enough to call their debut "One of the years best... these flickering (and hummable) songs give up their secrets slowly, or not at all".
