Along with his brother John, Richard Lander was the first European to determine the final route and termination of the river Niger in West Africa in 1830.  This was widely acknowledged as one of the greatest African discoveries of the 19th Century and yet outside Cornwall he is virtually unheard of today.

Join adventurer Simon Hendra as he shares the story of Lander’s life and his own expedition retracing Lander’s incredible journey.
