The Camborne Town Band and professional musical director, Steve Sykes are delighted to be working again with popular comedian and singer, Johnny Cowling, for an evening of musical favourites and comedy.

Once famous the world over, Camborne was the home of Richard Trevithick, Holman's Engineering and the world-famous School of Mines.

The Band has an unrivalled contest record dating from the late-1800s; it is truly remarkable, unsurpassed by any other in Cornwall. It has been a local Championship band since its formation and on the National stage since the 1920s. Having won the National Second Section Championship in 1945 it was promoted to the Championship Section the following year a position it has retained ever since having been placed in the top six in the country on six occasions. It's victory at the 2009 West of England Championships meant it again qualified to represent the South-West at the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall the sixth time in the last nine years.

Johnny Cownling - Comic & singer who has been compared variously with Jethro, Michael Barrymore and Tommy Cooper.

Previous concerts in the Hall for Cornwall and Minack Theatre have proved extremely popular, so early booking is recommended.
