Cornwall’s Miracle Theatre Company is well known for its daring, innovative and downright funny open air performances. This summer, south west audiences can expect a real treat with Miracle’s latest offering, a fresh adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic play, Romeo & Juliet in the lovely surroundings of Trelissick Garden on 4 and 5 June.

In Romeo & Juliet, Miracle Theatre creates a totally original world where senses soar and humour is found in unexpected places. The star-crossed lovers inhabit a war-torn place where society is fiercely divided and everyone around them is blinded by conflict and hatred. “They are drawn to each other like moths to a flame,” says director Bill Scott. “Their passion is a pure, bright, blazing refuge where, for a moment, they discover a kind of peace.”

Miracle Theatre’s open air performances - in historic castles, romantic gardens, ancient playing places and even a beach – captivate audiences of all ages. And with shows at over 50 venues across south west England and Wales, Romeo & Juliet will be Miracle’s most ambitious summer tour ever.
