Family Fun Days Out

School's out for Summer! School's out forever! Ok, not forever but long enough to enjoy a holiday in Cornwall! We've put together five of our favourite suggestions for a fun filled family day out in the Fal River area.
Be King of the Castle
You can't beat a family day out to Pendennis or St Mawes Castle. We particularly enjoy the Grand Medieval Jousts where you can enjoy magnificent knights riding on horseback and even a naughty court Jester!
National Maritime Museum
The National Maritime Museum is a must-visit for families. With a collection of boats, objects, art and books with a maritime theme, this makes for a great afternoon out and is situated on the water, close to Falmouth Docks. With puppet shows, storytelling, dress-up and rhymes, the Maritime Museum hosts some great events for the little pirates!
St Mawes Kayaks
St Mawes Kayaks offer fun for all! With the most incredible scenery and abundance of wildlife, you may even spot some seals! Their sit-on kayaks mean that it's easy to get on and off and you don't have to worry about getting out! Very stable and suitable for over-eights, hop on and get paddling for a day of fun on the water!
Orca Sea Safaris
One of Cornwall's top boat trips, Orca offer wildlife watching and coastal safaris. Enjoying the picturesque Carrick Roads, this is a magnificent day out taking in the spectacular sights and exploring the local wildlife. Potential sightings include dolphins, seals, whales, seabirds and basking sharks!
Visit the beach
One of the most affordable things to do but still one of the best! Head to one of the Falmouth Beaches; Gyllyngvase, Swanpool, Castle Beach or Maenporth for a day of fun. Enjoy a bite to eat at the Gylly Beach Café or pack a picnic to enjoy on the sand. Make sure you enjoy a proper Cornish ice cream, it's the law in these parts! Alternatively, why not visit the Helford and explore the small private coves for something a bit more intimate.
There is nowhere better for family adventures and fun days out than Cornwall, especially the Fal River area. Hop on and off the Enterprise Boat and visit Truro, Falmouth and St Mawes to make the most of our beautiful surroundings this summer.
