Guest Blog: Top 5 reasons couples choose Cornwall to say ‘I Do’?

13 October 2016

The wedding business in Cornwall is booming! Now more than ever is that sentence a fact, Cornwall is one of the top destinations couples in love head to when tying the knot.

The 2016 season may be winding down but that doesn’t stop the industry already planning and prepping for an even bigger and better 2017 season and here is why...

So what makes Cornwall one of THE most sought after locations to say ‘I Do’?

Unbeatable locations

Come rain or shine the Cornish coast will take some beating. There is nowhere quite like it in terms of landscape, views, atmosphere and a content culture. Hideaways deep in the countryside to seaside retreats, this county has some of the most picture perfect venues, whatever the tastes and preferences may be of the couple. Cornwall is becoming the ‘go – to location’ for celebrations, there is simply no need to go further afield to find that gasp inducing spot.

Happy memories

So many times do I hear and witness family and friend’s fondly recount happy memories and anecdotes from their time spent in this gorgeous county of ours. Childhood beach holidays to recent weekend retreats, Cornwall has a special place in a lot of people’s hearts. When couples start considering potential spots for the big day adding the happiest of all memories to their Cornish tales just feels right.

The Food and drink!

Cornwall is one of the top ‘foodie destinations’ in the UK, with some of the best producers, incredible fresh seafood and of course the many suppliers at the top of their game. The food and drink is a huge part of any wedding day and in Cornwall couples can choose from quite simply, the best.

Feels like Home

If it has been actual home for one of the bridal party or simply because time spent in this county is so welcoming and relaxing visitors feel ‘at home’ on every visit. Most often people feel home when they are by the ocean, coastal weddings are the biggest draw when planning a wedding in Cornwall and incorporating the coast into the day itself is achievable in many spots over the Duchy. Plus, returning year on year for an anniversary trip ‘home’ is another added bonus!

The choice

Now of course there is the venues of which we are spoilt, but we also happen to have some very talented members of the wedding industry on our doorstep. (See below for some of my recommendations) From flowers, to music and cakes to photographers, (oh the photos!) Cornwall has some of the best in the business all working together to deliver some of the most breath taking big days…
