Things to Do in Cornwall on Minimoon

9 May 2017

There is nowhere more beautiful than Cornwall for a minimoon. Rugged landscapes, the beautiful sea vistas and lots of little nooks and crannies designed with romance in mind.

We’ve put together some of our favourite ideas for ways to spend your very Cornish minimoon as newlyweds!

Enjoy an Ice Cream at The Point

The point in Falmouth is a popular hangout for indulging in proper Cornish ice cream and drinking in the views. Park up, purchase a Kelly’s cone and explore the breathtaking walk down to the coast.  We recommend popping in to Pendennis Castle to soak up some Cornish history and admire the panoramic views from the castle roof.

A Picnic on the Beach

With so many beaches to choose from, Cornwall really is your oyster.  Relax on the sand, dip your feet in the sea and pack a gourmet picnic to enjoy together.  We highly recommend the picnic from Picnic (fitting name!) They put together the most delicious picnics with treats such as Cornish sparkling elderflower wine, artisan bread, Cornish crab and local pates, olives and chutneys… yum!

Discover a Secret Garden

We may be renowned for our beaches but our gardens come a close second!  With so many unique gardens on our doorstep, pick one and explore!  Our favourites include Trebah renowned for its unique plants and pretty Monet style bridge and Glendurgan with its 180 year old maze!  Trelissick is also seriously special and is right next to the King Harry Ferry, ideal for exploring the Roseland.

Enjoy a Bike Ride a Deux

It doesn’t get more romantic than a bicycle ride for two!  Hire a bike at Cornwall’s Mineral Tramway and enjoy a picturesque ride.  Why not order a tandem?  After all, you are married now on the journey of your lives!

Learn to Cook

There is no better bonding activity than learning to cook together.  The experts at Philleigh Way Cookery School run regular courses covering topics such as Italian cuisine, how to make bread, sushi and delicious desserts… a day out with a difference!

Or Let Someone Else Do It

After all of that cooking, it’s time to put your feet up and enjoy a romantic meal together where you don’t lift a finger. With so many restaurants to choose from, it’s the toughest decision you’ll have to make during your minimoon!  Delicious cuisine, foodie awards and sea views like you’ve never seen! Explore the River

Lastly, you can’t enjoy a minimoon break in Cornwall without exploring the river.  Hop on an Enterprise Boat in Falmouth and pay a visit to Trelissick for the day.  Why not hop back on and spend some time in Truro, it’s the best way to approach the city, from the water, taking in those magnificent Cathedral views.

Don’t forget to spend plenty of your Minimoon relaxing and making the most of celebrating the two of you and your union.  Lie-ins, breakfast in bed and cocktails are the order of the day!
