King Harry's Reach 

There's certainly no filter necessary when it comes to the glorious and dense woodlands surrounding the upper reaches of the Fal River especially in autumn when nature is doing its the thing and the landscape is brought to life by golden hues. 

While you are there.. Take a trip on The King Harry Ferry (it's free for foot passengers), this crossing of the Fal River has been voted one of the ten most scenic ferry trips in the world by The Independent, alongside the Staten Island Ferry in New York and the Star Ferry in Hong Kong.

St Mawes Harbour

The idyllic old world fishing harbour of St Mawes with it's pastel and whit-washed cottages, tiny castle and imposing lighthouse is a stunning location to get some snaps. The harbour has always looked to the sea for its livelihood and to this day the village still has fishing boats working from the harbour and selling their produce on the quay.

While you are there..  Explore the St Mawes Castle, this immaculately preserved artillery fortress overlooks the Carrick Roads and, on a clear day, has great views of Falmouth.

Trelissick Pontoon

Surely one of the prettiest pontoons out there, this beautiful piece of engineering not only makes for a great focal point but also provides a cool perspective, floating in the river to capture hive of marine activity including racing Falmouth working boats, dinghy sailors and big ships.

While you are there.. Set off on the Woodland Walk, and enjoy the dreamy views, historic landscapes and wildlife galore at at National Trust Trelissick.

St Anthony's Head

St. Anthony's Lighthouse is positioned at the furthest point of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula, approximately 30 mins walk from the Place Ferry. This pristine brilliant white, 19 metre tall structure, perched on the rocks, really is a magnificent sight - always ready for it's close-up. 80's kids will recognise the lighthouse from the children’s television series Fraggle Rock. 

While you're there... Do the Roseland Ramble- If you're travelling from Falmouth, save money when you buy a combined ticket for the St Mawes Ferry and Place Ferry. Perfect if you are following the Roseland Ramble Circular Walk!

Falmouth Docks

Falmouth Harbour and the Carrick Roads form the third deepest natural harbour in the world, and the deepest in Western Europe. Today the docks handle all types of vessels from luxury yachts and warships, to tankers and cruise liners. The Docks lookout point (towards Pendennis Point) affords superb views across the site and Falmouth harbour- especially after dark. 

Prince of Wales Pier

OK so admittedly it's no Brighton Pier but we think this historic working jetty in the heart of a Falmouth is nonetheless a photogenic and interesting muse. The Prince of Wales Pier is a prime spot for people-watching and a jewel on Falmouth's Waterfront.
