The Greenbank Fal River Festival has the refreshing and loyal support of Skinner’s Brewery for the fourth year running.

The Greenbank Fal River Festival has the refreshing and loyal support of Skinner's Brewery for the fourth year running.

The local brewery is making sure that the popular festival is full of Cornish spirit by donating the infamous barrels of beer for the Beer Fleet Launch. The multi-award winning local firm is also sponsoring a day within the 10 days of activities.

The Beer Fleet Launch opens the Festival on Friday 27th May by transporting barrels of beer directly from Skinner's Brewery in Truro to Falmouth by boat down the River Fal.

It is a tremendously scenic occasion as countless vessels ranging in size from tugs to canoes parade beside the ferry carrying the beer. This colourful procession accompanies the beer to its destination - Events Square, whereupon it is duly enjoyed by sponsors and festival goers alike to live music.

Skinner's sponsored day - Wednesday1st June will see a variety of sporting and cultural events taking place in and around Falmouth. For further information about the events, visit http://www.falriverfestival.co.uk

Steve Skinner, Chief Executive of the brewery is looking forward to this year's Festival.

"We are proud of our Cornish roots and love celebrating Cornwall. Since the barley we use for brewing our ale is grown within 10 miles of the brewery, it's natural to continue our support for the local community through the Festival.

"Our real life Betty Stogs will join in the fun and we're really pleased to be contributing once again to the overall good spirit of this popular event."

Celebrating life on and around the river Fal, the Festival will take place from May 27 - June 5 in 2011, attracting more than 100,000 people to over 150 events, making it one of the largest festivals of its type in Cornwall.

There are just three Day Sponsorship opportunities still available during the week-long festival and there is the opportunity to become a Friend through the newly launched "Friends of Greenbank Fal River Festival" scheme, which also offers a variety of benefits for smaller organisations.
