Plans for 2013 Falmouth Town Guide unveiled

From 18 October 2012

The official town guide for Falmouth is all set to increase by 50% next year to meet the huge demand for it by visitors to the town.

Following on from a successful first year plans have been unveiled to increase production for the 2013 Falmouth Town Guide by 50 percent.

Produced for the first time this year after a partnership was formed between the Fal River Visitor Information Centre (FRVIC), Falmouth Town Council and Falmouth BID.

Over 40,000 guidebooks were distributed, with 25,000 going out in the first 10 weeks, across Cornwall and to 280 Tourist Information Centres south of Birmingham.

Nicola Kneebone, FRVIC manager, said: “Our first year at the Visitor Information Centre has been a huge success due to the hard work and determination of the team both at the Centre and Fal River Cornwall.

“We have seen over 85,000 people through the door since our opening in 2011, and we hope the high level of customer service that we provide is an invitation for visitors and locals alike to enjoy all the great things around the area.

“The 2012 edition of the Falmouth Guide has been received extremely well, by those who have received a copy from our office or through our extensive distribution service. The feedback has been extremely positive, and most remark at just how much we have packed into the guide, giving a clear overview of the best bits that Falmouth has to offer.

“Those who took out listings have also responded positively, and many have contacted us already to make sure they are included in our guide for 2013.”

In response to demand the print run for 2013 has been increased from 40,000 to 60,000.

Richard Gates, Falmouth Town Centre manager, said: “In this challenging economic climate, Falmouth must be seen to be doing everything possible to highlight the area, the FRVIC and all its roles including the Town Guide are one of the key mechanisms for achieving this.”

Membership, listing and advertising space for the 2013 Falmouth Town Guide are now on sale. For more information please contact Nicola Kneebone on 01326 313394 or nicola@falriver.co.uk.
