Skippers' Blog | International flavour...

From 24 April 2013

There's been a distinctly international flavour on board the Place Ferry this week.

Our Skippers will be blogging throughout the season, giving you an insight into the day to day life of the Cornwall Ferries fleet. The following is from Place Ferry Skipper, Simon Hammond.

A warm but cloudy day and one with both an international flavour and a New Year commitment...

Two Dutch and two Canadians boarded Livingstone this morning for Place. They are pictured disembarking onto Place causeway at low tide.

The Canadians were off to Plymouth as part of a weeks walking the coastal path and the Dutch wanted to complete the St Anthony's Head walk and take pictures.

The Dutch returned enchanted by the beauty and spectacular coastline of the Roseland peninsula.

In addition a large family crossed and a young man, when offered an opportunity to steer Livingstone under supervision, jumped at the chance as his New Year resolution was to skipper a boat! Here is the family leaving the pontoon at Place.
