Skippers' Blog | Sun shines on St Mawes

From 10 July 2013

The sun is shining on St Mawes in the latest installment of the Place Ferry Skippers' Blog.

The sun continues to shine on St Mawes and the season has picked up with plenty of full trips to Place via Place ferry with the added bonus of a second boat, which allows for harbour trips as well.

The Picos are used for sail training for youngsters and are a particular feature of the St Mawes sailing scene.

We seem to be generating more pick ups from Place this year so the word is cleary getting out about this key link for those holidaying on the peninsula.

St Mawes Harbour is also getting much busier with private boats seeking to load and off load passengers. The water has warmed up considerably and there is additional swimming ctivity at high tide off the Harbour wall and across at Porthbeor Beach. Met a lovely couple staying at the Tresanton hotel who hailed from Washington DC.

They thought that the whole St Anthony Head walk was just gorgeous and were surprised at the relative lack of development and people in the area.
