All the latest happenings from our Skipper Simon on the Place Ferry.

A beautiful morning greeted the Place Ferry skipper today. Fowey week has kept the water taxi work for the sailing club to a minimum so we can concentrate on getting Place passengers back and forth safely. One additional water taxi however was out to Gypsy Moth IV who was paying a visit to St Mawes and was picking up some charter customers. We think that she circumnavigated the globe with Sir Francis Chichester back in eh early 60s? I think that I might have seen her come into Falmouth.

A fairly rare sighting of a Sun Fish taken on the end of day return to Falmouth aboard May Queen spotted by her skipper. A very peculiar looking fish that seems to wallow in the water and looks incapable of moving anywhere fast. Passengers enjoyed the experience.
