Ellen Kent Opera Festival

A full programme of events part of the Ellen Kent Opera Festival. The festival runs over three nights with a different story each night.

Verdi Nabucco

Nabucco follows the plight of the Hebrews as they are forced from their homeland into exile by the Babylonian King Nabucco. This powerful tale is traditionally staged, features magnificent sets and costumes with amazing lighting and stage effects.

Puccini la Boheme

One of the most romantic operas ever written. It tells the tragic tale of the doomed, consumptive Mimi and her love for a penniless writer. Features many famous arias including Your Tiny Hand is Frozen, They Call Me Mimi and Muzetta’s Waltz.

Date: 18 October 2013, 7.30pm.

Verdi Aida

Verdi’s classic love story brimming with war, jealousy and revenge. Aida features some of the greatest pieces of music Verdi ever wrote, with the well known arias Celest Aida, Ritorna Vincitor and the great chorus piece the Triumphal March.
