Midnight Mermaid Walk

1 June 2013

Nearwater's Midnight Mermaid Walk in St Mawes is a breast cancer fundraiser raising money for the Mermaid Centre in Cornwall.

The Midnight Mermaid Walk, organised by Nearwater, will take place in St Mawes on Saturday, June 1 from 6pm until 9am the following morning.

The walk, part of the Fal River Festival, will be raising money for Cornwall's Mermaid Centre.

The walk is a challenging loop with 9 laps adding up to 26 miles, with intermediate options of half marathon or four person relay (2 laps each with everbody doing the last lap together).

All the walks are 2.8 mile laps of the village past the Castle, the harbour and wonderful views over Falmouth Bay and St Anthony Lighthouse.

Nearwater are aiming aiming to raise at least £50,000 for the Mermaid Centre in Truro. If every walker raised £100 in sponsorship they would reach their target!

So whether you're looking for a full marathon or something a little easier, put 1 June in your diary now and tell all your friends about the Midnight Mermaid Walk.

All walkers are encouraged to raise at least £100 for the Mermaid Centre.
