A group of conscientious and committed pupils called the Water Front Crew, are working along side contemporary artist, Georgina Maxwell for the Fal River Festival. The Water Front Crew spend days out, clearing marine debris from Falmouth harbour, with mentor, Mel...and local policeman, Sean..., an activity that is highly commendable in terms of educating the next generation in environmental issues.

Maxwell is becoming increasingly well-known for creating art works from plastic marine debris she collects from Cornish beaches, her work focuses on the suffering and mortality of marine life due to plastic pollution. During the festival, the WFC will be collecting bin liners full of rubbish which will then be used to make an art installation suspended at the Greenbank Hotel, overlooking the river.
