Cornwall’s Clubs & Charities – “C3”

28 May 2011

Cornwall’s charities and clubs are invited to take a pitch at Cornwall’s Clubs & Charities - “C3”, the community event at this year’s Greenbank Fal River Festival.

Entertainment from many of the clubs and charities that ensure Cornwall enjoys a wealth of activities throughout the year, brought to you from Eventy Marketing & PR.

There will be entertainment throughout the day provided by a range of charities that help our community all year round in Cornwall, so do come and show them your support and join in the fun! The event is free to enter with something for everyone including food and drink along with a licensed bar open all day.

Activities will take place in the marquee on Events Square, as well as in the square itself. There will be lots to see and do including abseiling with BF Adventure and exciting games, a Samba group, a band provided by PANTS, face painting, balloons, stickers, lollies and a host of dancing workshops and performances with The Works Dance and Theatre.

In the marquee, you will be able to meet and find out more about The Works Dance and Theatre; BF Adventure;  Robert Owen Communities; Cornwall Samaritans; Tanyas Courage; Keep it in Cornwall; St Petrocs; Cornwall Rural Community Council; National Coastwatch Institute, Bass Point; PANTS; Jubilee Sailing Trust (Cornwall Branch); Cornwall Sirens; Cool Earth; the West Briton; Lang Bennetts and many more!

National Coastwatch Institute will be sending “Watch Keepers” to answer any questions and bringing picture boards showing the station at Bass Point and the equipment they use.

BF Adventure will be showing you how to get involved with their charity abseils - perhaps you’d like to abseil down the side of the Maritime Museum?!

Cornwall Sirens will have stickers, posters, cards and photos as well as special offers for their surf school. There will be info on a free taster of surfing with the girls, plus rumours of a mermaid making an appearance!

Cornwall Samaritans will have lots of info about who they are and what they are doing around Cornwall. They will have trained volunteers available if people want to talk about any emotional issues they are facing, as well as balloons, stickers and lollies for the young ones.

Robert Owen Communities will be bringing their Samba Band so that everyone can join in the dancing or simply watch and listen to this amazing music.

Cool Earth will be in the marquee for some ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ inspired Jungle Fun.

The Works Dance and Theatre will be running activities on the stage from 12 midday until 4pm with a range of dance workshops and performances from groups around the county.

This follows on from a band performing at 11am in support of PANTS to raise awareness of women’s and men’s cancers in the pants area!

These are just some ideas of what will be going on during the day. Cornwall Community Foundation, Radio Cornwall, Lang Bennetts and the West Briton are all supporting the event and we hope that the crowds will also support it!
