Flushing Arts Week 'The Wishermen'

3 — 4 June 2010

Open Air theatre production of The Wisherman by Juliet Trewellard and Dan Williams, who live in Devoran.

This comedy-drama is co-written by local playwrights and performed by a new theatre company: RUNNING TIDE, touring Cornwall this summer.

On a Cornish coast high above the sea, two sisters have their house, indeed their very existence, prey to gales and storms.  All day the wind seemed to blow and the sisters knew its every mood.  It was said, also, that they knew how to conjure the winds, cause wrecks, and get the sea to bring them what they needed for provisions.  Yet their hearts yearned for more.

They wished and they dreamed, always the same dream, that one day the wicked wind would bring them their hearts desire – the thing they wished so fervently for: A MAN!
