The Greenbank Fal River Festival is fit for a king with its new day sponsor -Tregenna Castle.

The St Ives based hotel is sponsoring 3rd June, the final Friday of this tremendously popular festival.

One of the largest employers in St Ives, the hotel is a strong supporter of the Duchy. James Parker, Operations Director of Tregenna Castle explains the enthusiasm for the Greenbank Fal River Festival:

"We're always keen to support the community, from local fishermen who supply our restaurant to local charities that enrich the county for its residents.

"The Greenbank Fal River Festival gives the perfect flavour of Cornwall to all of our guests. We offer a beautiful place to stay and many visitors enjoy our facilities such as our golf course, so the outdoorsy activities of the Festival have real appeal.

"The ‘outstanding' Ofsted status of our Castle Kids childcare means that many guests come with children and these younger members of the family particularly enjoy the colourful goings on of the Festival."

Tregenna Castle is especially pleased to be sponsoring the day that features the award winning Film on the Fal.

Claire Easton-Basset, Director of Event Cornwall who organise Film on the Fal said:

"Film on the Fal is a cinematic experience unlike any other - the still water, massive screen, the sun setting in a clear sky and the ferry out in the middle of the river; it's a great event in a fantastic location, which is why we have won so many awards for it! There's always a connection between location and film so this year's showing of The Abyss is taking place with the ferry over the deepest part of the river and Master and Commander is a natural choice given the shipping and military history of Falmouth. We're really looking forward to this year's screenings and a great summer!"

All of the events and further info can be seen at Greenbank Fal River Festival, visit http://www.falriverfestival.co.uk

Celebrating life on and around the river Fal, the Festival will take place from May 27 - June 5 in 2011, attracting more than 100,000 people to over 150 events, making it one of the largest festivals of its type in Cornwall.

There are just three Day Sponsorship opportunities still available during the ten day long festival and there is the opportunity to become a Friend through the newly launched "Friends of Greenbank Fal River Festival" scheme, which also offers a variety of benefits for smaller organisations.
