Beautifully shot Arctic set psychological drama that is both a wild adventure story and an existentialist mood piece. Adapted from a short story by Sara Maitland. Saiva (Yeoh) is cursed: all who love her are doomed. So she ekes out a nomadic existence on the Arctic plains with only her daughter and their huskies for company. An escaped POW Loki (Sean Bean) bursts into their lonely lives, causing shockwaves of lust and jealosy. Asif Kapadia is one of the UK's brightest talents: his debut The Warrior in 2001 promised big things and this delivers with a vivid and ambitiously weird take on folklore and story-telling.

Warning: contains brief scenes of a violent nature
