Gargantua by Carl Grose

17 August 2013

Gargantua by Carl Grose - Hall for Cornwall's Summer School. Tickets £7.00 - £9.00

When Mr and Mrs Mungus have a baby it isn’t the bouncing blue-eyed boy they were hoping for.

After a two-and-a-half year pregnancy, Mini Mungus gives birth to a monster – one with an accelerated growth rate and an insatiable appetite for anything that moves (including joggers).

When sinister military scientists become intent on cloning an army of giant mites from their not so little poppet, he breaks his chains and escapes. The world can only watch in horror as he embarks on learning how to walk and the resulting rampant destruction. Who will stop this over-grown ankle biter? Who will decide his tragic fate? And who, more importantly, will change his nappy?

Join us for this very special production written by Carl Grose (National Theatre, Kneehigh) which won the National Theatre Connections Award 2011, co-produced with o-region, Hall for Cornwall and the Summer School 2013 participants and performed entirely by young people. Complete with rock band and a cast of 40 Gargantua is outlandish, bizarre, epic and great fun!
