Joe Discoll & Sekou Kouyate

7 October

Something magic this way comes + support from Steve Strong. Princess Pavilion, Falmouth. Time 7.30pm

Joe Driscoll's innovative partnership with Sekou Kouyate sees the duo seamlessly fuse Driscoll's hip-hop/folk sounds with inspired kora improvisation from Kouyate.

The latter produces "an astonishing rapid-fire cascade of notes from the African harp that inevitably [draws] comparisons with Hendrix," says The Guardian.

Steve Strong is a one man arsenal of beats, tapped guitar and lush, textural melodies. His music is as withheld as it is grandiose, as skeletal as it is layered, equal parts shimmering and pulsing. Steve's ability to bridge the gap between technical ability and captivation is completely instinctual.
