Musician, comedian and pioneering performance poet, John Cooper Clarke is the embodiment of northern cynical wisdom.

Musician, comedian and pioneering performance poet, John Cooper Clarke is the embodiment of northern cynical wisdom. Abrupt, anarchic and as sharp as a barber's razor, the Salford Bard with more backcomb than Brand has disfigured many a stage with his punk-paced social commentary. Supporting cult acts including the Sex Pistols, Joy Division and New Order with works such as Health Fanatic, Daily Express and Chickentown. His all-seeing and brutally funny wordsmithery continues to pervade the work of modern artists such as Noel Gallagher, The Arctic Monkeys and Lily Allen.
