La Traviata

4 July 2013

Opera UK presents a new production of Verdi's - La Traviata - at Hall for Cornwall. Tickets £17.50 - £21.50

La Traviata is perhaps the most popular of all operas – with its tragic love story set to glorious music.

And, it is a story that everyone knows – Violetta, the famous courtesan, forced to give up the love of her life, only to die of consumption, in poverty, young and heartbroken. Who can forget Julia Roberts crying her eyes out when watching it in the film “Pretty Woman”. Sung in English.

Opera UK’s new production will add a twist to the story. The opera will be set in Hitler’s Germany and at the start we see that Violetta is the mistress of a Nazi officer before she makes her tragic bid for freedom.

For one performance only!
