Learn how the Victorians differentiated between yachting and "boat-sailing" and how "boat-sailing" flourished in the second half of the nineteenth century with the rise of the middle classes. Discover how racing dinghies developed from these boats, first appearing in the waters of South Devon around 1890, and how ultimately these led to the dinghy classes we know today.
