Our very own Cornish chef George Pascoe teaches students how to make a proper Cornish Pasty (to granny's spears own recipe) and Cornish clotted cream.
Maximum student to tutor ratio: 10-1
Duration: 10:00-12:30
Tutors: George Pascoe – Philleigh Way Head Tutor
Course Overview
Welcome: Meet your tutor and see for yourself the Philleigh Way farmhouse cookery school and garden.
The Day: The course kicks off with a pasty making demonstration that also covers the history and culture of the Cornish pasty. Students then have a go at making their own pasty with hands on guidance from our tutors – especially during the all important crimping! Whilst the pasties are baking in the oven students will enjoy a demonstration of how to make clotted cream from raw milk. Students then sit down to enjoy a classic Cornish tea with jam, scones and home made clotted cream before heading home with their freshly baked pasty.
This is a guide to the days activities and may vary depending on the season as well as the group's interest.
Age suitability: 15+ or 13+ if accompanied by a paying adult.
