The Wiyos at The Performance Centre

7 October 2013

American Roots Sensations, The Wiyos return to Falmouth for exclusive date.

American roots sensations The Wiyos return to play at The Performance Centre, Falmouth University on Monday 7 October at 7.30pm as their only date in Cornwall.

Having had a successful UK tour in 2012, playing to huge crowds at 27 baseball parks across the USA, they also opened for Bob Dylan (by personal invitation) and certainly caused a but of a stir in Falmouth with their unique blend of early swing jazz, rural folk, old-time blues and Appalachian music.

Not many bands could confess to having Bob Dylan and Seasick Steve as fans, but The Wiyos can. This year they are taking the music back to their roots to the time they captured people's attention by busking on the streets of Brooklyn.

“This is great music” -Bob Harris

This will be the only Cornish date on the tour, and if anything like last year their near two hour performance will be one of the highlights of the music calendar in the South West.
